Schitt's Creek

Post by sfpcc » Fri Aug 28, 2020 3:33 am

Channel 50 is picking up the recently concluded Canadian Sitcom Schitt's Creek. This is the first new show they've added in a couple of years. I've seen the first two episodes on CBC and It's pretty funny. Has anyone else out there seen this show? Do you think it's a good choice? (I've always really liked The Big Bang Theory but after nine years it's getting kind of stale.)

Schitt's Creek is a very clever, quirky and offbeat comedy. Love it!

We know Netflix and Hulu exist, yes?

Why would we care about streaming internet here?

One of the best shows ever. Catherine O'Hara is beyond fantastic.

Because who wouldn't want to watch commercials or watch when the network decides?

I've seen a few clips but never watched the show. Seems pretty good. I might not set aside time to see it, but if I run across it flipping channels, it will probably keep me locked in. Congrats to 50 on the 'get'!

I checked CW 50's schedule and it doesn't list the show yet... is there a date for when it will begin airing?

I also thought that FOX picked up syndication rights to it, but Fox 2 isn't airing it either...

Some of us like watching FREE TV instead of paying for it.

i enjoy local free television, not because i'm cheap, but because i'm on a limited budget and have to make due with what I have available... that and I like to try to support my local AM/FM/TV stations and the stores that advertise on them. Shows like Schitt's Creek make me glad I kept my rooftop antenna. Haven't laughed that hard in ages. :D

It’s been on internet television (and it’s free through Roku) for over a year and a half now. Internet television is also free. My initial cost for my Roku was $29.95 plus tax and no monthly fees for anything and I have thousands of free offerings.

You may be paying for it when ATSC 3.0 becomes reality. ATSC3.0 and the internet will work together in this new generation of television. The Networks want you to buy their product and NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox want to make money and be on an even playing field with internet, cable and satellite. So it could be bye-bye free television in the next 10 years.
