But wait, where are they going to find people of color? They're in Flint and Saginaw!sinklair wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 8:39 am25-66’s parent company Sinclair Broadcast Group finally released a statement about its support for the Black Lives Matter movement:
On its Facebook page, Sinclair writes:
“Sinclair stands with the peaceful protests occurring around the country that are forcing important conversations and actions to address racism in this country. We support a diverse, inclusive community that treats all people with the respect and dignity that they deserve, and we will use our platform to expose instances of racism and prejudice in all forms. We also express our sincere condolences to the Floyd family and hope that as a country we can come together and insure incidents like this never happen again.”
And yet 25-66 still won’t promote persons of color into management roles. The former GM and current ASSistant GM/Promotions Director, In Over Her Head News Director, Director of Declining Sales, Party Planner/HR Director, Creative Services Director, Business Manager, Local Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Chief Engineer, News Promotions Manager, IT Director, Sports Director, Executive Producer, Chief Photographer, Digital Content Manager, Digital Sales Manager, Programming Director, Traffic Manager, regional manager and group news director Lame Michaelsen are all... you guessed it... white.
While Sinclair’s sentiment is admirable... it’s long past due that diversity extends to hiring practices that have prevented any significant hiring of persons of color into the station’s and corporate management ranks. And when people complain about the systemic racism that exists at the station, instead of threatening retaliation, managers should listen. Actions over words.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Welcome to Sinclair! Where Black Lives Matter!
<muffled> “We just don’t hire any of them.”

Make no mistake. She was not "hand-picked." That would require seeking her out and paying her more than they would pay someone else.sinklair wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 2:18 pmSinclair’s systematic problem with diversity isn’t limited to 25-66 or its hand picked in over her head News Director...

Seems as if other Sinclair stations have similar problems. Here’s some helpful advice: the problems start with the top. Get more persons of color in management positions and more diverse voices will be in the reporter/anchor ranks.
Neither to both of those.
Here's exactly how it went:
1. Kathy Overbite leaves the station worse off than before she arrived.
2. Management looks around.
3. Checks the first person they see for a pulse.
4. Hires them on the spot without any questions and without giving any additional compensation.

Kathy Overbite wasn’t forced out.sinklair wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 7:28 pmKathy Reynolds (not sure why you continue personal insults... especially since you claim never to have worked for NBC 25) hasn’t worked at the station for 7 years now.
So your scenario is more like:
The former news director is pushed out the door by the bow departed egomaniac/accountant in chief since he won’t roll over and air unethical one sided corporate must run “news” stories and promos. And instead of actually doing an open search for a news director, the egomaniac and regional news manager Lame Michaelsen decide to promote the next person in line (Neille), don’t bother paying her the amount they were paying Schramm, and don’t fill the Assistant News Director role. That way the station saves money and we do more with less.
It’s the same gimmick that they have Ahmad filling the chief meteorologist role after Jamie Kagol was forced out... but really didn’t give Ahmad the title or raise.
It’s BS. It’s also unfortunately the 25-66 way.
The new GM (if one is ever hired) needs to clean house... Maybe Sinclair can hire a non-sales person for the top position... or a person of color. But pigs have a greater chance of flying out my butt first.

Then why did you say:
"The former news director is pushed out the door by the bow departed egomaniac/accountant in chief since he won’t roll over and air unethical one sided corporate must run “news” stories and promos."
