Re: Whitmer Misses The Mark
That statement is rather robotic.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: Whitmer Misses The Mark
Actually far from it... if you were here I would be flailing about talking with my hands rather gregariously...
Re: Whitmer Misses The Mark
So how much longer before people are locked up in their house with the door locked from the outside?
Re: Whitmer Misses The Mark
It is clear she thinks she has emergency powers through 4/29 currently. Her 70 day extension using that line of thinking means it would go through 7/8. That's just plain ridiculous.
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

Our health director can order Quarantine, shelter in place, businesses to be closed and other safety directives. The procesutor and sheriff will support those orders. Really dude, take a civics course.audiophile wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 5:34 amI thought only governor or president could do that? A non-elected health department official?
And for you armchair scientists, this is the official Michigan modeling that the governor is using to make decisions:

Here's another model that you can play with:

It's interesting when you play with those models. Shows that with a hard lockdown you really end up with a big spike once the lockdown is lifted. If it's a partial lockdown and you only encounter 30% of the folks you normally would, you minimize the peak. Anything less than that you just delay the big peak until the lockdown is lifted.TC Talks wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 1:08 pmOur health director can order Quarantine, shelter in place, businesses to be closed and other safety directives. At the end of this 70% will get the virus. The goal is to not overwhelm the hospitals all at once.

For TCT, because you must have missed it:

The Prosecutor actually makes the call. A sheriff works at the will of the prosecutor.

Re: Whitmer Misses The Mark
Great. So at 357,000 cases, exactly 0.1% of the population has it right now. That means that 700x more people have to get it yet. We've been shut down now about 3 weeks. Are you telling me we are going to have to shut down for 700x3 weeks - or for the next 40 years? Because if current rate of infection growth is all the hospitals can handle, to control the rate and keep it here while waiting for 70% of the population to get infected, that is how long it is going to take - 40 years.

Look at the flu. We have a shot each year, we have Theraflu, we know how to manage it, but it has never gone away.
Corona has been around for a while, Sars and Mers are related. We just need to learn how to control the risk we should be getting back to normal with Vaccines and ways to manage it when hospitalizations happen.
HIV is another threat that still exists but we understand it now.
But in the end, we will always have virus threats.

This one is new to us. Corona Viruses are a known thing, both SARS and MERS are Corona Viruses...TC Talks wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 6:07 pmLook at the flu. We have a shot each year, we have Theraflu, we know how to manage it, but it has never gone away.

THANK GOODNESS she changed her mind. This time around just last week she threatened administrative action against Doctors for prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine to treat Coronavirus cases:
https://www.michigan.gov/documents/lara ... 4869_7.pdf
Now, she's on board with the drug, having "requested hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine from the Strategic National Stockpile for physicians to use to help treat patients with COVID-19"
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

I'm glad too, but she is way to aggressive at attacking innovation.
Meanwhile N100 masks are being produced o'er here thanks to innovation.
