What you did not say is she shot the first missle at him but spin it however you like. I'm sure there was purpose in her missle strike, she knew an attack would come her way and wear it like a badge of honor she will. She's got to keep her name out there in the limelight, some of it a political game for her keeping her in Papa Joe's radar. I do think she has done a good job with the State being decisive and being one of ahead of the curve. I guess it all keeps the focus of what she campaigned for with the roads off of people's radars and forgotten about for now.
Her criticism was mild and valid. He’s a child not a man.

Whitmer seems like a plastic Barbie to me.

If you give the government this kind of power, who knows in what other cases they will use it for. Declaring “emergencies” on everything means the Constitution might as well not exist. The government will run your life to the extreme and you will obey or else. Sorry, I prefer the freedom route.

You’ve also hurt the salaries of so many people. The economy may very well crash. Begging the Feds for more money is not the answer- in fact it will only make things worse.

I don’t think you understand the gravity of the situation.

I understand the situation, the real situation. I don’t buy what the media and government is telling us.

So you don’t buy that the virus if left uncontained could infect enough old and sick people (we have about 100,000,000 or so) that it would overwhelm the hospital system as is happening in Italy?

It's just backwards. It should be the Federal Government going to the states for resources. The federal government shouldn't really have the resources, outside of what is necessary for the military protection of the country. Some of those resources could be used (as they are right now, with equipment), but each state should have a significant responsibility to manage their own disasters. The feds can help when coordination between states is necessary, or when several states might need help from several other states.

Just to look to the feds to "handle this" or for cash is actually pretty backwards but is where we've ended up.

That’s because the universe tries to do the simplest thing... coordinating 50 responses from below instead of one from above is far from simple. It would actually make it 100 times harder to function.

That's just not true, unless you have 50 incompetent folks running their 'divisions'.

OK, well maybe it is true just due to that fact. :)

You can't have one central force managing 50 different locations unless you force all 50 locations to be exactly the same.

To a degree... but with all the governors looking to the feds for guidance as long as they follow it they are the same. But then there’s incompetence. Oy Ve... :)

The Feds have put out guidance since 9/11 on how to handle big issue like this and have updated regularly. The last big update to a pandemic issue was just in 2017. Each STATE should have been using this guidance as well as developing their own plans to execute when something like this happens.

And while that’s true there was a pandemic task force put into place specifically to coordinate this sort of thing. It’s one of the things they learned from H1N1... it was dismantled by Trump. He went on to say that he didn’t know anything about it or the complete restructuring of the department that oversaw it (DHS or NSC?)... he’s either lying or clueless as to what’s going on within his cabinet and with the government he’s supposedly “improving”... either is scary.

As a democratic socialist (or pinko commie depending on the accuser) I am enjoying this aspect of how RINO the GOP can be.

Whitmer has done a good job in following what other states have done. To blame the federal government for not doing what it constitutionally not do demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of the US Constitution. She also has frequently tried to sidestep our state constitution, so it shouldn't be a surprise.

Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

So Trump gets no blame for sitting on his hands and saying it’s no big deal? Bullshit.

Don't belittle Matt, he has demonstrated over and over that he is what we call "Special Needs"
