Channel 2 traffic reporter
Channel 2 traffic reporter
I see that they have a new traffic reporter on 2 the last couple of mornings. It's Kelly Rowe along with new graphics that started on Monday, I wonder what happened to Heather Pascoe, is she on vacation or just gone?

I'll say this again, there was no better traffic reporter than...Al Allen...standing on a freeway overpass at 4:35am, in a driving snowstorm, -10 degrees out, that is still classic traffic reporting...

I miss Al. Did he ever see the inside of the studio?lidoshuffle wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 5:40 pmI'll say this again, there was no better traffic reporter than...Al Allen...standing on a freeway overpass at 4:35am, in a driving snowstorm, -10 degrees out, that is still classic traffic reporting...

And to the OP's point...they should put Kelly on air, rather than just a voice-over. She can't do any worse than what we get on 4 or 7 in that regard.

I also noticed this week no copter coverage, lots of changes.
Re: Channel 2 traffic reporter
I don't think it was the day he retired. But maybe a couple days earlier. I remember it. It was a surprise party.
They told him to come to the station. They had his wife and family there.
And I remember he was wondering "Why would they asking me to come in for?". Like it was a rare occurrence.

The city needs to "do the right thing" and name an overpass for him!!
Re: Channel 2 traffic reporter
To make a slight correction, he was a regular reporter, not a traffic reporter. But your point about his spending a lot of time outdoors is well-taken.lidoshuffle wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 5:40 pmI'll say this again, there was no better traffic reporter than...Al Allen...standing on a freeway overpass at 4:35am, in a driving snowstorm, -10 degrees out, that is still classic traffic reporting...
