Yeah. Ahead of his time on Climate Change. Too bad he was a largely ineffective president. Some of it him. Some of it circumstantial.

That is incorrect. Besides, they will still talking about global cooling then. In 1977, a popular book on the topic was published, called The Weather Conspiracy: The Coming of the New Ice Age.
July 11, 1979 is when he signed it, in response to the deceased oil production in Iran. The stated objective was to save 200,000-400,000 barrels of oil. https://www.nytimes.com/1979/07/11/arch ... ummer.html
The order was dumb, because most public buildings did not use oil.

Books with "Conspiracy" in the title are always popular sellers among certain segments of the population.
I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.

Wasn’t Carter the president who had solar panels put on the white house roof?

Re: Best U.S. president of all time
Carter's problem was that he was just too good of a person. Gave people the benefit of the doubt. Tried to do the right thing. Those things have no place in American politics or society. Give him credit for trying, but he was not a very good president. Good man, good human being, but bad president.
Reagan had a great sense of humor and always had a good soundbite. I can appreciate his personality. Ike and JFK had the right idea. Same as FDR. Had to pull us from the brink.
No love for Millard Fillmore or James K. Polk??? I'm disappointed.

President Carter wanted the 51 or 52 men in Iran to stay until further notice. WRONG, Reagan became president in January of 1981 & the men came home!!!

I second your choices!Turkeytop wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 6:53 pmMWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 5:56 pmThe only President from the past 50 years to make my top five list is Reagan.
Next most recent is Ike.
Obama wasn't as bad as many conservatives make him out to be. Overall, I think he was no worse than George W. Bush. I think Bill Clinton, who receives far too much credit these days, was worse than both.
Just as an outside observer, I liked Ford, Carter, Bush Sr. and Obama.
The sleaziest, Nixon Clinton and Trump.
