With the top station in Chicagoland with a 5 share, shows alot of listeners going elsewhere than AM/FM radio for their listening.
Not true, more people more stations bigger market smaller slices of the pie, a 5 share in Chicago is like a 7 or 8 share in Detroit the audience is there just older, thats why WCSX does well n Detroit, Classic Rock and Classic Hits do well everywhere currently, Top 40 on the other hand not so well the audience in that case is listening to other platforms mainly streaming.

WXRT has always been a great station in Chicago, it’s to bad no one in Detroit can do a format like WXRT, it could do well. The River 93.9 had the opportunity to do something like that but never really caught on to what a AAA formatted station should actually sound like.

I think you need to go and do some research and come up with some stats, please don’t guess. Look up radio is still strong from Jacobs Media 91 percent of the population listen to radio, also Radio Ink claims radio is the strongest out of all platforms that are available, so catch up on your reading there’s a lot of articles on the strength of good ole radio it’s as strong today as it was in the 60’s.
