Read any good books lately?

Post by lovinlife101 » Wed Jul 10, 2019 7:44 am

I think this would be a nice thread to share what we’re reading this summer. Here’s my list:

1. Black and Blue: Why Cops Brutalized Minorities

2. A Cop’s Tale: Triple Chins and Double Standards

3. The Impossible Dream: Accountable Cops

4. Power Trip: From Hall Monitor To Highly-Paid Badged Bully

5. Revenge of the Nerds X: Police Payback

Loathinlife101 needs to read Heather McDonalds essays for balance. She pulls actual numbers and statistics and come to a different conclusion.
Also, its sickening to hear how "racist" a cop is after taking action when any person of color is aggressive and confrontational toward them. I just saw the video of the former MSU athlete refusing to cooperate, walking off and then tackling the cop. Loathinglife101 probably believes that guy is a "victim of police brutality" even though he (Suspect) did nothing right.
Follow instructions. Dont run. Dont reach for a cops gun. Dont attack a cop. Dont reach up your own shirt to imply a weapon. Dont try to be a bigshot and you wont get shot.
Many black-majority neighborhoods statistically have a much higher rate of violence. Once that elephant in the room is honestly addressed, we can realistically discuss policing in those communities. What are police to do in areas with massive crime rates where people are anti-law enforcement and a lot of people resist or fight back when detained? LACK of police presence and lack of adequate patrols is 1 big reason crime and violence in Flint and Detroit have never gotten under control. Pontiac was so cash-strapped they had to disband their police force. Most of these majority-black cities with high crime numbers are LED by black chiefs. There WAS an isolated case of racial misconduct in Detroit and the black chief promptly took action. Thats usually what happens. They tend to be isolated incidents that are promptly dealt with and handled. And black chiefs will obviously not go easy on them.
Ignorance. Too bad you’re only 100% wrong.

We’re all these victims “big shots”?
