Toledo is a dive, but Fifth Third Field is a very nice park. And if you don't want to pay stadium prices for food and beer there are plenty of bars and restaurants in downtown Toledo. It's possible to park free on the street for weekend games if you get there early enough.

The park has been kept up well and yes, there are plenty of decent places to go before and after the game. They even allow you to drink while walking in that DORA district. Just don’t stray very far from there because the neighborhood goes to hell very quickly. I have been to several games there and enjoy it. My comment about bad baseball was more directed to how poorly the Mud Hens are playing this year.

KC has been a .500 club in their last 10. They are catching up to the Tigers.

Good thing Baltimore is in the same league.

KC has some solid young talent that has made it to the majors, they're farther along in their rebuild than the Tigers are.

I'm not even sure if the Orioles are that much worse than the Tigers, but they play in a much tougher division. Boston is third in that division with virtually the same team that went 119-43 and obliterated the Yankees, Astros and Dodgers in the playoffs last year.

Very well stated.

The Tigers rebuild is progressing very slowly. The front office doesn't have the right talent or intellect to execute a proficient rebuild.

I think the Tigers have a damn good chance of finishing the season with the worst record in the AL.

Percentage wise, the Tigers are now at the bottom of the division. Well done.

YES.

Has every news organization in town given an edict to its reporters, writers, and anchors to refrain from mentioning the Tigers' record or "under .500" differential?

It is almost never mentioned.

This team is on pace for its worst record since the epic failure of a season in 2003.

This piece of shit team is 1-9 in its last ten games. Baltimore is 4-6. When one looks at the past twenty-five games, I believe the Tigers are 5 - 20. That's a winning percentage of 0.200 folks!

The Tigers are at the halfway point of the season and are currently at 0.333 with a 27-54 record. My prediction is this team will win between 20 and 23 of its remaining games. I think they finish the season with 50 wins or fewer.

But don't worry - Chris Ilitch says the rebuild is going well. NO ONE from the mainstream media in this pathetic town will call him out on that ridiculous claim. :rollin

James McCann who the Tigers cast off is having an all-star season with the White Sox. More brilliant talent evaluation from Al Avila.

And today (with the organization attempting to bury the news in the middle of a holiday weekend) they announce Avila is getting a contract extension.

Hey, at least it'll be easy to get good seats at Comerica Park for a long, long time.

Did the Ford Family buy this team and no one reported on it? This is almost up to extending Matt Millen awfulness.

The only time I will go see this team in person is if they are on the road. I am not giving my hard earned dollars to this incompetent organization.

I noticed within the last couple days both major newspapers finally ran stories regarding the Tigers' complete ineptitude from a W-L standpoint.

Of course, in both cases, someone other than the Tigers' assigned beat writer wrote the pieces!

As expected, McCosky wrote a piece defending the contract extension. This guy will never criticize any of the moves the organization makes - EVER. He is a complete PR flack for the Tigers organization. Fenech wrote a similar article, which spewed some of the same talking points as McCosky's article.

McCosky made the preposterous claim that the Tigers farm system is now in the upper-middle echelon of all major league farm systems. What a fucking joke.

What justifies this????

Sad day for Tiger fan's, he should have been shown the door after this season imo.

All this crap about "oh, the Tigers have a good minor league system now so Avila deserved the extension."

Prospects in baseball are by and large a CRAPSHOOT. It's not like basketball, football or even hockey. Especially pitchers. Arms break down easily under the strain of increased workloads on the way to the majors. Even the Astros, who are considered a model organization, drafted some guy named Mark Appel with the #1 pick in 2013 when they could have had Kris Bryant. Bryant became a pillar of the Cubs' championship team while Appel is currently selling insurance or something.

You don't know how these guys are going to pan out, if they do at all.
