SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
Re: SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
I enjoy the severe weather coverage. When I see there is a storm outbreak I go to that markets TV station website and watch their coverage for hours and hours. Last night I was watching coverage from Kansas City from their local CBS affiliate. Good stuff!

He's not. I do the same.
Re: SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
HL101: you're a failed meteorologist. So your opinions on this topic do not matter.
Re: SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
Maybe you aren't a meteorologist (really, who cares if you are or not), but you are definitely a failure as a member of this forum.

HL101 is the biggest "member" (male body part) of them all.
But alas another post that HL101 derails. "It" should be discussing efforts by real (AKA non-newspaper) meteorologists to keep their viewers informed about severe weather.

You're the biggest bully on this board, and you either know that or you are delusional.lovinlife101 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 7:04 amApparently.
But I refuse to do it.
And I refuse to silence anyone.

We know you are profoundly ignorant and I am not a bully, I just changed your name to Dickhead!

Re: SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
People complain about posts not being on topic, yet in the past two weeks in this thread, there’s been no new thoughts on the subject. Just more of the arguments.
To attempt a reversal of that trend - viewers will usually complain when they lose the ability to watch what they want to: as the Queen song goes, I want it all, and I want it now.
The tv meteorologist should ignore the complaints and remain professional. Anything short of that is a disservice to the public by wasting time, and to the station and profession by appearing like they don’t understand their role as a professional.
Yet, like the arguing, it will continue to happen.

Thank you musicrewired for attempting to get the thread back on track. But HL101 will surely attempt to derail the post again.
But I do agree with you that meteorologists should focus on the accuracy of their forecasting.

Re: SCREW YOU! I’M KEEPING YOU SAFE!!!
Considering it was their own thread that went off topic, I guess the arguing is their preferred method of dialogue.
If the subject is how tv “professionals” should be above responding to criticism of how their station’s programming is prioritized, then shouldn’t said critic be above the criticism (generally personal in nature) of their own comments, as they’re not relevant to the subject? If there’s a standard one wants to follow, then do so, and don’t feel the need to engage in continual verbal brinkmanship.
Or just continue the back-and-forth “I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I?” It’s not exactly conversation at high tea, but most public discourse isn’t anyway.

To "sort of" put this back on track.. I know this may be unpopular with many of you, but i don't think we are owed any warning when severe weather strikes or is approaching. Thousands of years of human existence managed to survive by simply paying attention. Don't get me wrong -- the warnings are definitely nice to have. But -- it grinds my gears when someone whose property was destroyed by a severe storm is on TV complaining that there was "no warning whatsoever," as if they are owed an engraved notice rather than paying attention to the sky now and then.
