So if WCSX is willing to dip into the 1990's with Smashing Pumpkins and artists of that sound, why are they unwilling to play Soundgarden, Audioslave, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Pantera and some of the harder-edged feel that would seemingly fit better than Billy Corgan-type rock.

Other than Judas Priest (which I believe 94.7 already plays), I wouldn't recommend any of those artists as being a good fit.

Ironically, select tracks from Gish and Siamese Dream would be a better fit. More of a psychedelic tinge to some of those tracks. Mellon Collie was a much more straight ahead alt rock album.

Last time I tuned past WCSX, (probably a couple of months or so ago) they were playing "Still the One" by Orleans. :x

That sound like something they'd play on their Sunday Morning Over Easy Program. About a week ago I heard Brewer And Shipley's One Toke Over The Line. A lot of stuff like that you really don't hear anymore.

Don’t want to cannibalize WRIF too much.

Still the One during the week? Not even close to classic rock. Will ABBA be next?

Everytime I turn them on, theyre playing Frees "All Right Now". One of the few holdovers from their early-90s heyday and its one of the most boring choices possible. I guess that song tests well...

Early 90s?
I'm pretty sure the song came out in 71.
And it is the definition of classic rock.

Does anyone still play "Can't Get Enough" by Bad Company?
I miss that one.
