Cameron has rarely corrected my grammar (which is usually precise, since I was a boyhood spelling champ and scored 16.5 on an English Comprehension exam in '77,meaning I speak and understand the language at a first-year university post-graduate level ) ,but is ALWAYS slagging the syntax of Curt in Fraser, with whom Cameron disagrees on most sports topics. (Perhaps Curt should have a show; he'd be much more listenable than Ron .)

It's a minor (actually, almost major ) miracle that next July,Cameron will celebrate a half-century on the DETROIT airwaves, given his shortcomings often discussed here and elsewhere . Wonder if a young Ron Cameron of 2020 would last ONE year, never mind fifty .

Mono,if at all possible, how 'bout asking your boy to consider Yours Truly as a subject, given my three sports Hall-Of-Fame cousins,(Fergie Jenkins,Tony Dungy and Reuben Mayes),my two write-ups in Windsor sports publications (the Star and the long-defunct Sportstype Magazine ), my 54-year talk show calling history and 60 of my nearly 66-life as a sports fan ?

Mr. Transistor,Alex should have a show, but it's highly unlikely the Patriot would air another sports show ,or that Ron would permit Alex to spread his wings independently of Ron .

What a difference yesterday with Alex back and Joey helping. Especially considering it was 2 hours of open line, it really seemed like Ron was having a good time and more at ease.

What a disaster tonight. And a waste of a good guest in Mark Wilson. Ron keeps Mark on hold while he reads box scores, and gives score updates. Just pathetic.

Mono,Mark Wilson (Ron's best guest, and it's a shame he's retired from TV and radio ) has a podcast in Vegas . Cameron ,of course, reads scores and otherwise talks over Mark, but Wilson brings of lot of experience and insight to the show .(I E-mail Mark about twice a month .)

It’s funny, I rarely, if ever, listen to Ron’s shows on Saturday and Sunday live. I always catch up to the podcasts later the following week (a train wreck is a train wreck, even if you don’t witness it “live”!). It does kinda show what a relic Ron is by his “giving the scoreboard”, because he doesn’t realize or wanna admit, most people have a smartphone that has up-to-the-minute scores at the flick of a finger!!!

I listened to last Sunday’s (5/12) podcast with Mark Wilson as the guest along with two hours of open lines. To my ears it sounds as if Mark Wilson is wearying of Ron’s same old, same old: getting interrupted by Ron, Ron insisting on talking over Mark with his “BACK to me!” storytelling, and the usual bizarre negativity Ron shovels out.

Agree totally, uncleb67, although I think Mark’s been tired of Ron’s act for some time now. Maybe he does the show to retain some visibility in the Detroit market. And to promote his new podcast. Nonetheless, Ron still wants to harp on Mark’s partnership with Rob, and of course his tried and true lines about RuPaul, Lena Horne. And, of course, “Bea Arthur was a man.”

Listen to the Saturday show on podcast. For being open line both hours, it was actually pretty entertaining without Matt there.

I listened to this past Saturday’s podcast as well, and yes, that was a much better broadcast. Alex and Joey steered that show in a quality direction, for sure.

Alex and Joey deserve a show, singly or as a team, but I wonder where they'd get a gig, since the Patriot won't likely air another sports show and neither the Ticket nor the Fan has room for another such program .

They could have a shot if Ron had to undergo a little medical leave of absence and prove their worth. It's too bad Ron has chosen not to learn any technology, the boys try to keep Ron out there with the twitter account they use with Ron's name attached to it. Ron would not know how to use a smartphone if it fell in his lap.
