Congratulations for picking an interesting format. Americana is all over Texas I wonder how it will do in Port Huron.

That sounds like the format of a sign-on FM in Harbor Springs/Petoskey around 1988. I almost went to work there. Would have been interesting.

That was WLTO 103.9 Cross Country, MisterGoodrich.
It is now WCMW-FM, a WCMU-FM satellite.

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Re: THE HILLS ARE ALIVE IN PORT HURON
As I recall, WLTO was owned by Howard Binkow of the General Television Network. I forget what the corporate name was. And its in the lost database years to look it up easily, betweeen the History Cards and the Full Computer Records.

What I heard was that WLTO was kind of a hobby endeavor for Mr. Binkow. But that has been quite common in Northern Michigan with stations beginning that way. I think Cross Country could have been a more viable format if it had been done right.

Re: THE HILLS ARE ALIVE IN PORT HURON
That's sad to hear. The PD (can't remember his name) seemed like a good guy with some cred in AOR. I interviewed with him in Harbor Springs (I was in Lansing at the time) and then met Howard in AA. He was strange.
Re: THE HILLS ARE ALIVE IN PORT HURON
Just heard Fleetwood Mac's "Never Going Back Again". I haven't hear that on the radio in a LONG time. Very interesting format, I think I could listen to this!
I confirm all my information through a high, white whore's souse!

Picked up 1590 in Warren last week and all I heard was country. No thanks.
