Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...
Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...
Do we really need Daylight Savings Time anymore, Personally I say get rid of it, I don’t care for it, Do you know how many clocks I have to change in my house and I’m in a big house, What do you think? Keep it or get rid of it.

Or we could do what Florida did,
Permanently be in DST.
I would prefer that than to be in only standard time.

Music is my life.

Either way but no more changing clocks, I’m tired of it and enough is enough.(Wow! Am I pissed or what?)

I would prefer DST all year too, but I’m not sure Florida did that. I’m in Florida right now and I didn’t experience a time change earlier this week when I traveled.

Zenith, How’s the weather in Florida? And the time change is tomorrow night for Michigan.

It's an old and outdated practice that is no longer relevant in today's society. Studies have shown time changes increase the risks of heart attacks and accidents. Also it's not good for your circadian rhythm. Just pick a time and stick with it...enough of this changing the clock nonsense. Why not change to the central time zone? A portion of the western UP already is.

Hot and sunny here. I didn’t waste any time getting sunburned. I’m near Naples. It’s sunny, sunny, sunny, then SLAM dusk and darkness. Never noticed it like that at home.
Too bad I’m not here next week after the time change.

Re: Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...
Some years ago there was a story on NPR about savings time. The story stated that the only area that showed any up tick was Mall traffic. Nothing else that could be verified as a + due to having the sun go down later.

It's like cutting one end off a blanket and stitching it on to the other end, to make it longer.
I don't mean to brag, but I just put a puzzle together in 1 day and the box said 2-4 years.

Except my workday doesn’t change. If you push my workday up an hour during standard time so I have more daylight after work, it would work better for me. But it doesnt work that way.
Re: Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...
I look at it from this perspective: There are 24 hours in a day. Regardless if its dark or light I can still do things I want regardless what the clock says. From personal experience and this is no joke, springing forward really messes me up for a couple of weeks...just dragging ass. If I happen to be off work the night of when we set the clocks forward I will go to bed early to help compensate for the hour loss. However I am unable to do that this time around as I'll be at work and therefore won't be able to retire the night early. Should be interesting!!

We've had Daylight Savings Time for over 40 years. Quit complaining...deal with it.
