Bill Harris honored for 50 years of broadcasting

I’m surprised I’m the first to post about this here since Bill has not been shy about touting it all over social media.

He says he’s “gushing” with pride and humility. I get it. It’s called a “humble brag,” and it doesn’t exist.

What other profession honors someone for simply being there 50 years? What stories has Bill broken over 50 years? How has his reporting and/or anchoring revolutionized the industry over five decades?

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is no reply to this thread because I can’t this of any answers either.

Funny that HL101 continues to focus his wrath on Mr. Harris, his former coworker. No mention of Silver Circle winner Tommy Brocklehurst from ABC12.

Both Bill and Tommy are about as nice as they come in this business.

It' simply called longevity. I worked in the business for 38 years. 2 years at one station and 36 at another. 50 is much more than I could have put up with.

Guess it should be the “I’ve put up with more garbage than any of you” award.
