100.7 Toledo line up change
Looks like Phil Valentine is gone, Savage is gone. Clark Howard replaces Phil Valentine, Ben Shapiro replaced Savage. For some reason they cut off the last hour of Chris Plante and air 1 hour of Del Wamsley. I think 100.7 only registered like a 0.2 overall in the ratings last time. Not sure where they were at as the zone.
For the love of all that's decent, enough with the country stations in NW Ohio and SE Michigan! please! One of you, out of the pool! Toledo Does not need 3 country stations. We are not Podunk Mississippi or Nebraska.

Clark Howard is one of my favorites. Glad they put him on 100.7 as I had been listening to him on AM 800 CKLW, or online via San Francisco's "Real Talk 910" website. Surprised Chris Plant is still on there at all. WABC Radio in New York city replaced him with Fox News's Brian Kilmead as of early January 2019.

Cumulus is pushing Shapiro nationwide, they even put him on WLS in Chicago on afternoon drive, but Savage is a big name so it's kind of surprising they wouldn't keep airing him here on a delay at least.

Not sure if this is accurate, but I heard that as of tomorrow February 4, Savage is podcast only and is no longer syndicated via terrestrial radio.

He’s still listed on Westwood One’s website, but to be blunt, what conservative talk station would want to carry a one-hour show where a three-hour show is more easily accessible?80sTalkRadioFan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 03, 2019 11:34 amNot sure if this is accurate, but I heard that as of tomorrow February 4, Savage is podcast only and is no longer syndicated via terrestrial radio.
As for Chris Plante, he was dropped at WABC because no one listens to that station. No one. At least they run endless infomercials and brokered block programming all weekend long, otherwise it would be a ratings crisis.

A shame for such a station with the history of WABC. I guess they're still making money with all those infomercials, even if nobody is listening to them anymore. Otherwise, what can you do with an old AM station that mainly targets people who remember it as a music station.

If everyone who commented on this board would listen to 100.7, they might actually compete in the ratings.

And a station that not only lost their two highest-profile hosts (Rush and Lumpy) but had Imus mumble and fumble around for far too long, to the point his “retirement” last year was more of a mercy killing.80sTalkRadioFan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 12:46 pmA shame for such a station with the history of WABC. Outside of WMAL and WJR, the ratings for most of the legacy ABC Radio talkers are horrific. KABC is even in worse shape than WABC, and that’s saying something. WLS is a mere shell of itself.

Re: 100.7 Toledo line up change
They never published it but what were The Zones ratings or The Vibes for that matter? About in general?
This is pretty much a place just to park syndicated stuff but I had thought maybe they would have ditched the format by now.

Re: 100.7 Toledo line up change
Zone used to show up in the ratings, albeit low, even after it moved from 106.5 to 100.7. IIRC, it eventually vanished after the year as the Vibe followed by being the dumping ground for Free Beer & Hot Wings in Toledo after that show bombed on XKR, and simultaneously began mixing in terrible girly music like Gotye and especially Lorde, who they were playing the hell out of in 2013. Whatever audience they had was gone by the time they did that bizarre format change to hard rock for only a few months before 1470 was shut down and the talk shows moved to FM.

Re: 100.7 Toledo line up change
Wasn't that short lived active rock format all satellite fed? It lasted like 2 months. It would have been doable I think, if they had changed the name of the station and had all new(non corny) station ID's. " Toledo's real rock, 100.7 The Buzz" " The real home for the rock of Toledo, 100.7 The Buzz" .
I didn't mind the music it was just the crappy imagining. I am not sure if it was intended to be permanent or the 1470 thing just crept up on them, well knowing Cumulus it was all poor planning.
I think a rock format on 100.7 wouldn't be a bad thing, just don't go cornball. They could still air those brokered shows on Sunday. Still, when The Cloud does unload 106.5, my guess is ESPN will likely move to 100.7, with 24/7 feed.

Re: 100.7 Toledo line up change
It wasn't quite all satellite, they still had Peapod on in mornings, who sounded like he was being forced to broadcast with a gun to his head. He still pops up from time to time on XKR as a fill-in. And yeah, I'm also still confused as to why they bothered changing the format for only 2 months.1027BrianFM wrote: ↑Sun Feb 10, 2019 5:52 pmWasn't that short lived active rock format all satellite fed? As for the future, I don't think rock is ever coming back to 100.7. Toledo is a shit market for alternative and harder rock would be in danger of cannibalizing XKR too much. It's probably about 50/50 on whether they keep running the conservative talk shows or move ESPN over when the God squad finally comes calling for 106.5.

Re: 100.7 Toledo line up change
No, Alt will not come back. I dont see it. Whoever gets 106.5, be it religious or possibly a smaller broadcaster of some sort(Urban llc) will likely not keep the format so 100.7 is the logical place for ESPN.
