Not an Idol fan, But the rest is an Excellent choice, Anything with Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Who, Vintage Classic Rock 1967-1973 will do, Groups like Quicksilver Messenger Service, Mountain, Spirit, Early Chicago, Early Fleetwood Mac, Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes, Early Seger (when he was at his best), Humble Pie, Uriah Heep, Early Boz Scaggs with Duane Allman, Cream, The Yardbirds, Shit! I could go forever Dude, But you got the idea. By the way if you want to hear a great blues tune YouTube Boz Scaggs and Duane Allman “Loan Me A Dime” Kick Ass Jam and please let me know what you think.

Oldies 84,those songs were among the crème de la crème of my teenage and beginning manhood soundtrack!!!(Just think,no [c]rap,no "bro Country",no almost talent-free "broad pop" ,ie.,insipid stuff for young broads-Taylor Swift,I'm getting sick looking at you-and GREAT DJs!!!!!!)
Re: Hot music for a cold commute
I’m currently creating a format that hopefully will be tested on a friends station out in The Great Northwest sometimes in the next 6 Months and it will consist of Vintage Classic Rock from ‘’64-‘73 from such Groups and Artists I previously listed and more of course, It will also include The British Invasion, The Psychedelic era and The San Francisco sound. Of all goes as planned it would be tested for 1 year.borderboy653659200 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 11:11 amOldies 84,those songs were among the crème de la crème of my teenage and beginning manhood soundtrack!!!(Just think,no [c]rap,no "bro Country",no almost talent-free "broad pop" ,ie.,insipid stuff for young broads-Taylor Swift,I'm getting sick looking at you-and GREAT DJs!!!!!!)

I remember reading some positive things in the 1970s about "Loan Me a Dime." It was a rock critic favorite, like Van Morrison's "Madame George."Oldies 84 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 8:20 pmNot an Idol fan, But the rest is an Excellent choice, Anything with Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Who, Vintage Classic Rock 1967-1973 will do, Groups like Quicksilver Messenger Service, Mountain, Spirit, Early Chicago, Early Fleetwood Mac, Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes, Early Seger (when he was at his best), Humble Pie, Uriah Heep, Early Boz Scaggs with Duane Allman, Cream, The Yardbirds, Shit! I played the whole 1969 Boz Scaggs album on YouTube to hear "Loan Me a Dime" in its full album cut glory. The wide influences and the easygoing tone of the shorter songs set it up well. You got to hear bits and pieces of that great backing band before "Loan Me a Dime" let them all cut loose, especially Duane Allman. Then the relaxing finale, "Sweet Release." The authentic roots feeling of the whole album reminded me of a similarly great album that came out that year, the self-titled Band album.
Thanks for the recommendation. It was a nice way to start the weekend.
