Yep, just because it's holiday time doesn't mean news doesn't happen! Thanks to WNEM for having an afternoon newscast on Christmas Eve. Can't say the same for the so called "news leader" up north.

Yes! Because otherwise we would have to get a life and do something productive during that time.

Because, who would know about a petting zoo outside the viewing area (western Michigan) wanting old Christmas trees for goat food?

Oh, and a lady in Saginaw Township has a Christmas village set up.

Who would tell me that water is wet and to “slow down” when the roads get icy without a well-timed newcast?
Damn it, you mean I wasted my time with family when I could have just stayed in mother's basement and watched this life changing information?

I agree with 101 and Graham. Furthermore, if Christmas had fallen on Sunday, would WNEM be deserving of a kudos for airing these newscasts rather than, say, CBS's NFL coverage? People would be outraged.

Also kudos for having an afternoon newscast on New Years Day! Can always count on TV5! The other station chose to air paid programming, I'm sure that pulls in the ratings! NOT!
