Re: 98.7 Song Requests
Let's bring some of those forgotten Alice Cooper ballads back on the air. I Never Cry, You & Me and How You Gonna See Me Now. Any station that plays anything from Lace & Whiskey or From the Inside will be a favorite. Know what? Surprise me. Play Quiet Room. Or Pain. Oh man, that would be the coolest.

Blessid Union of Souls - I Believe. An AC mainstay for many years that I don't think gets much airplay these days. Great song.

We're all missing one key artist! We need some Miss Anita Baker!

Re: 98.7 Song Requests
Anita Baker is a good one. How could a Detroit based station playing softer music not include Anita Baker.
How about:
Free - Deniece Williams
When I Die - Motherlode
Funny thing about this station / format, so many songs they play I used to change the station when they came on back in the day, now, I find myself leaving it on 98.7 when I hear these same songs....must be getting old. I think it is just that they play so many songs that have all but disappeared from radio for a long time - they seem fresh again. And so much variety over a long span of time.
I fear they will tighten their playlist one this stunt is done and be just another boring AC station like WNIC - hope I am wrong though.

Re: 98.7 Song Requests
I think the format will stay how it is luckily, due to the fact that the other Soft AC's across the country are all in like the top 3 in their markets.markmiester01 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 7:53 pmI fear they will tighten their playlist one this stunt is done and be just another boring AC station like WNIC - hope I am wrong though.
And I must say, I've never seen everyone on this forum so enthusiastic over a format change.
They would be really stupid to change it.

Here are some songs that the iHeartMedia Breeze stations and Cox Media's WFEZ in Miami play and wouldn't interfere with 104.3 WOMC.
Madonna - Live to Tell
Madonna - Take A Bow
Madonna - Secret
Madonna - I'll Remember
Madonna - This Used to Be My Playground

Jungle Fever by The Chakachas
Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede
Those would get some attention... "What did I just hear?"

Re: 98.7 Song Requests
How about "Game Of Love" by Santana ft. Michelle Branch. It was an AC staple in the early 2000s.
Oh and Michael McDonald's cover of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", as well as his superhit "I Keep Forgettin' (Everytime You're Near)".
For sure though we need "My Father's Eyes" by Eric Clapton.
He's definitely lacking airplay on here, they only are playing "Tears In Heaven" right now.
Still waiting for Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do". If they don't want to play that, they can at least do "Soak Up The Sun".
Also, Bonnie Raitt's "Something To Talk About" has been an AC staple ever since it was first released back in 1990.
I convinced the PD at KISQ (98.1 The Breeze) in SF to add it in as well as the Sheryl Crow song back in early 2017, and they still play them both daily. That station is currently the number 1 music station in the SF market.
When they first flipped in 2016 they were SUPER SOFT, and after a while I decided to contact the PD (don't remember his name) and said I had some great song ideas to "shake it up a bit", and he was all for my ideas. He probably thought it was a bit weird that I was on the other side of the country but whatever, it all worked out, haha.
I would love to be a radio consultant (that doesn't make stations sound stale like ...cough.. Gary Berkowitz.. cough). Music is my life. I have a giant music encyclopedia in my brain, and I love making use of it.

Re: 98.7 Song Requests
Awe, thanks, haha.
I remember someone saying that to me a few years ago when I made a thread actually talking about a soft AC format, and I made a brief track by track 1 hour playlist as an example.
