Re: WHNE channel 14
In light of the fact that this channel has been assigned two channels that are already used: Channel 14 is actually WKBD-TV's actual channel and Channel 20 speaks for itself as WMYD-TV. I am surprised that anyone has been able to receive this ill planned operation. I never could for these specific reasons. Apparently somebody has finally recognized this stupidity and decided to do something about it.
If I understand this correctly they are seeking to move to an unused channel. Whoa!! what a concept. Channel 3

Re: WHNE channel 14
There is nothing going on today dealing with the repack of channels coming in 2020.
WHNE will switch to channel 3 before WTVS switches to channel 20.
WMYD currently broadcasts on channel 21 and WHNE broadcasts on channel 20. Both are on the same tower. The transmitters are in the same building, but in different rooms across the hall from each other. I wonder if the weather is causing this problem. Could the frequencies be affected by the fog for some reason? Doesn't seem possible as they've been collocated for nearly 5 years without this issue happening before today.

Re: WHNE channel 14
I've gotten 20.232 (or some similarly weird number) on my TV in the past.
It never caused any issue tuning in the WHNE (or for that matter, WMYD) channels with proper PSIP assignments, though.
If you scan for channels properly, tuning of your DTV or converter box should be based exclusively on PSIP locations. If you enter "14.1" or "14-1" via remote, it should take you directly to WHNE.
Similarly, if you enter "20.1" or "20-1" via remote, it should take you directly to WMYD.
In case you've forgotten, WJBK utilizes RF channel 7 for DTV transmission. No one seems to have any trouble tuning in WXYZ, which is mapped to PSIP channel 7.
WPXD utilizes RF channel 50 for DTV transmission. No one seems to have any trouble tuning in WKBD, which is mapped to PSIP channel 50.
In other words, with all due respect, you seem to be raising a stink for no legitimate reason.

This should be a non-issue, SixPlusOne.Channel 14 is actually WKBD-TV's actual channel and Channel 20 speaks for itself as WMYD-TV.

Re: WHNE channel 14
Let me see if I understand what you guys are seeing.
WHNE broadcasts 14.1 through 14.12.
But today you're getting 14.1 through 14.24 with some sub channels missing. Is that correct?
Is there video and audio on all the channels?
Are the first 12 playing what those channels normally have on them?

Re: WHNE channel 14
RabbitEars currently only shows up to 14.12, but I wonder if they actually even have equipment to run 24 subchannels.
My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

WHNE is doing a hard reboot of the entire system. We should see some correction hopefully in about 10-15 minutes
Re: WHNE channel 14
It's 20.2 thru 20.24 with every other channel missing. Meaning there are still only 12 channels. Video and audio is still normal but there's no channel names or EPG.tvbobn wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:38 pmLet me see if I understand what you guys are seeing.

I don't think that even exists. The most I've ever seen including audio subs was KAXT-CD. Until recently they had 12 video and 8 audio. The most I've seen including just video is KSCZ-LD with 16 subs.
WHNE used to air a simulcast of 14.6 on 20.2817 (it showed up on most tuners as 20.817) from when 14.6 was first added in April 2016 until 14.7 was added last yearMWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:34 pmI've gotten 20.232 (or some similarly weird number) on my TV in the past.

Re: WHNE channel 14
Yup, noticed same on my TV moments ago.
The PQ on Light TV looks much better now than it did previously!!! The size aspect ratio is now perfect and the picture itself is nice & clear.
Retro still has an annoying dashed line at the top of the screen.
I'm getting 12 subchannels altogether, numbered 14.1 to 14.12.

Re: WHNE channel 14
Out of curiosity, how many watts is WHNE? I have a hard time receiving it in Livonia.
