Re: Ron Cameron
Just heard the tribute. Major props to Aaron for pulling the clips. I would have loved to see him as producer.
WPON is airing more oldies jingles between songs, or at least it seems like it. Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s Aaron too.

Isn’t Denny in Florida now? I think they’d prefer someone in studio. Their equipment isn’t the best- I think that’s a Sima being cheap thing. Charlie on the AA Revolving Door Show is via internet and it isn’t the best. I don’t blame that on the guys doing the show.
What’s Baligian doing these days since being axed at WJR? I don’t see him doing it but it would be a nice treat for us.

I never said Momo was a stalker or creep. Just a tad bit quirky.Majik wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 10:10 amLooks like someone will have to update his resume’ to include stalker. I quit opening this thread when one of you started waiting for him in a library parking lot every weekend.
I'm actually old enough to remember Page and Cameron on their show,
The gentleman was a fountain of sports knowledge for sure. Rest in Peace.

Re: Ron Cameron
All of these revealing comments about Ron over the last couple of weeks make me imagine that a Citizen Kane-like journey was made to understand all sides of Ron's life.
Which makes me imagine this scenario;
When Hazel the maid cleaned up Ron' s motel room for the last time, she found a scrap of paper at his bedside with one word written on it. Instead of throwing it away, like she usually did with Ron's scraps of paper (especially the ones with names and phone numbers written on them), she turned the piece of paper over to the authorities.
Multiple interviews were conducted to discover the meaning of the word, but all efforts were in vain.
No one would ever learn that the word—Spalding—represented a baseball glove that Ron received for Christmas in 1955 when he was ten years old. A prized possession that he had to give up when he was kicked out of his family's house when he was 15.

Re: Ron Cameron
And the first person Ron encountered after being kicked out at 15? Tyrus Raymond Cobb.
Re: Ron Cameron
I drove by a newly-opened Dairy Queen “Chill & Grill” in my neck of the woods this morning. Certainly thought of Ron, and pretty sure he never got that strawberry sundae he was drooling about the last month or so…

Ron was probably a fan of 19th century baseball pioneer Al Spaulding, who is actually a member of the Hall Of Fame.
