Q105 rebrands to a 90's and 2000's format

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

100.7 as a talk station would be very identical to WJR from 8 at night to 5 in the morning. Mark Levin, Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro and Red Eye Radio would almost certainly air there. I don't know Cumulus's current shows right now that are syndicated talk.
Talk radio 100.7 had Mark Levin :x and near the end had motor mouth Ben Shapiro. Had red eye radio too. Then of course they dumped that for The Zone. 100.7 of course aired CSN for many years before Cumulus acquired the translator in exchange for 1560am.

Back when Talk Radio 1470/100.7 existed, it was an all-syndicated lineup compared to WJR at the time which had an all local lineup with the exception of Rush and nights and overnights, which were nearly identical. The main purpose of 100.7 would be to clear all of Cumulus's talk shows if they were to flip back. Not to mention, WJR overall has a better signal in the area.

My guess is they decided to flip 100.7 back to The Zone, as the show contracts likely were set to expire and with 88.9 in Whitehouse cutting into CIMX's signal it made sense. The Zone might still be around if they had not sold 106.5 to a Jesuscaster. 105.5 could be next on the block, who knows.

But yeah WJR comes in flawless in Toledo, even on a crappy radio. The lineup was

Mornings-Don't remember.
Middays-Chris Plante than later Chris Plante and an hour of Del Wamsley
Afternoon-Dennis Miller than later Jonathan Brandmeier
Drive Time-Dave Ramsey
Evenings-Mark Levin
Late evening-Michael Savage
Overnights-Red Eye radio

When they first flipped, Talk Radio 1470 had Imus in the morning. Imus was past his prime, starting to fail in health, and was damaged goods in part due to the Rutgers controversy years earlier. I'm not sure who replaced him after he retired in 2018.

The Zone is technically still around, but only on the internet and for those with HD Radio's. Kind of stinks as iHeart's rock playlist is stuck in 2006.

I'm surprised our fellow poster who was constantly railing against 105.5 over the summer hasn't dropped in to give his .02.
In any case, this doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in. They might as well take 105.5 all sports on the main signal with the Ticket format. Doesn't look like that has a primary channel at the moment.
There is nothing to say, the station is terrible. They can make all the music changes they want, but without coaching Ron Burgundy who they refuse to ditch. They will continue to be mediocre.

Talent ? You mean the one local jock on the station in the afternoon who does a 4 hour PSA for mental health everyday. It is a downer.

I've edited my mistake, but yeah. Ron Burgundy who goes on the air everyday for a few hours, steals content, and talks and talks about depressing topics.

Someone should tell that afternoon guy on Q105 to stop talking for two or three minutes into commercials. The guy is a tune out.
