WOWO Returns to 92.3

I had to make sure this article wasn't super old but it's true, WOWO is back on The FM in The Fort.

On September 3, 1979 I was listening to 1190khz WOWO on my GE alarm clock radio at 9:37am. Bob Sievers was introducing a song by saying "This one is for you kids out there", then started playing a Frank Sinatra song!!!! He jumped in and said he made a mistake, it was actually for your grandparents!!!! I called him from the payphone down the street (my mom forbid me from making long distance calls on the home phone as I had racked up a large phone bill from calling radio DJs across the USA!!) and told him that was so funny!!! Bob reminded me that I was no longer allowed to call WOWO 1190khz as I apparently tied up their lines too much!!!

The article says the 107.5 translator will still repeat WOWO. What’s the point? Either move classic hits there or come up with a cheap niche format.

Definitely ought to help with some of 1190's issues to the west after dark, plus the inherent audio advantages FM holds over AM. Not sure if they have many coverage deficiencies to the east within the market, given the null toward New York. 1190 still blasts into Mercer and most of Auglaize County at night.
