Toledo Station For Sale

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

There's something wrong with this coverage map for CFZM 740.

I wouldn't say daytime is as good as the map here, maybe night time, but not daytime. What do you think is wrong with this map other than the tower being in the middle of Ontario instead of Toronto?

My best guess is a decimal point error in entering the power into the programming routine that determines the FI at 1 km.

Looks pretty close to Toronto to me. It is actually about 50km west-southwest of Toronto. The tower is easily seen from one of the major freeways.

Since they are low on the band, Toronto still gets a good signal.

Note that this is actually a 100kW stick, as it is diplexed with SRC station CJBC.

Which explains why it was fairly easy for WPAY/WVOI/WTTO 1520 to slap 5 new towers in a row when they went from their dual site 1-Michigan/6-Ohio towers to their current setup? Just gotta protect Buffalo while 730 has to protect non-existent Canadian AM stations of yore (CHYR) plus Toronto?
The Michigan site at Smith and Jackman was also six towers using a 3x2 layout.

The Ohio site was six towers inline.

CKAC 730 is a 50000 watt Class A and has to be protected at Night by WJYM 730. So that may be another factor, not just the vacant CHYR7 on 730. Its in the same general direction. CHYR7 protected CKAC also. It was equivalent to about 47 watts inverse directional power, about the same as WVFN at Night. That would kind of limit WJYM also.

Agreed.

That plot looks "about right" if we were talking a 500 kW signal as opposed to 50 kW.

Anyone see a price for the sale of WJYM 730 and translator on 106.9?
WPAY 1520 is still silent, I wonder why that is?

The asking price for WJYM is supposedly $635,000. That's only what I've seen here. I have no idea which broker has the listing.

Is that sale price broken down into station license value, equipment value, real estate land value, and any other agreements, like the recent WLCO sale, Colonel?

1470am, this ones never going to die on here lol. 730am sounds really good, sound wise here in Wood Co Ohio. Now the programing is another story.
1470 WOHO. The station you grew up with has grown up with you. And died!

How did the pair of stations and pair of translators in Palm Springs sell so cheap? Only $105K total? That's a whole lot less than WJYM asking price?
