WLIO 8.1 (35.1) to ABC?

Post by TeddyBear » Wed Jan 01, 2020 10:30 pm

When did WLIO Lima change to ABC, from NBC? It's (35.1) showing as "WOHLABC" currently. CBS (35.2) is "WOHLCBS" tonight.

WOHL is the low powered station on 35.1. WLIO is using 8.1 instead of the old analog 35. Confusing, I know.

Ok, why would I get 35.1 and not the higher powered 8.1? Not confusing. 8.1 is the RF redirected to 35.1 PSIP. Should the other 2 channels be showing another frequency... say 15.x? I could not have only gotten 15.1 and 15.2 over 8.1 and 8.2. Unless 15.x got a power raise and is no lo get an LPTV. That's the only thing that makes sense.

I did read WOHL put up a translator (WPNM) licensed to Leipsic. The normal coverage area according to rabbit ears nicks Perrysburg and Maumee. That is probably what you picked up.

WLIO is using their physical channel (8.1) instead of the old analog 35 as PSIP. I have picked them up at times.

I find it odd to get a translator or low power station and not recieve the full power station. That would be too odd and unexplainable. Why did I not get channel 4 or 44?

Also, the TV 27, WPNM on WBGU's (TV 22) TX is not licensed yet. It's still in application phase.

That does not explain this at all. I also would have thought Fred, the Chief Engineer at WLIO might have mentioned this. Yet, he did not.

I would also think the FCC documentation link on the Lima "Your Hometown Stations" site would show WPNM as well. Yet it does not. Nothing on "Your Hometown Stations" webpage at all.

Funny thing... am seeing an awful Tim Allen comedy on this channel (WOHLABC 35.1) again tonight. Makes the 3rd night.
