Re: 106.5 Toledo
The Tigers have been off of Toledo radio for 3 years now and the sun has continued to rise. Clearing the Tigers to air wouldn't make 106.5 any more likely to be sold.

Re: 106.5 Toledo
Very few people give two rips about listening to a garbage team like the Tigers (even if there *were* an actual baseball season right now).
The Indians are the only major league team who should be available on local radio in Toledo.

Re: 106.5 Toledo
I definitely agree! No one's going to miss anything as long as they are bad. It's not time to put them back on Toledo airwaves. As soon as they become competitive again, then that's when a radio station here should start attempting to buy rights to the games.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 7:27 amVery few people give two rips about listening to a garbage team like the Tigers (even if there *were* an actual baseball season right now).

Re: 106.5 Toledo
You'd have to think any halfway decent offer would be accepted. It's a shitty signal in what was already a depressed market before the worst economy in 80 years hit with the pandemic. It could very likely just keep running ESPN Radio for 23 hours a day for many, many years unless ESPN Radio itself is shut down, anything is possible in a negative way.

The trouble with 106.5 is the proximity to the airport, and therefore, the need to use a shorter tower. Out near the airport is the only place it meets all of the mileage separation requirements, so it is what it is.

Re: 106.5 Toledo
It's a very clear signal in mono, not as clear in stereo. So if it ever did get sold, probably should stay as some sort of talk station, whether sports, news or religious talk/ministry format.

Sold! $110,000.
RadioInsight has the report.
A nonprofit purchased the station.

They do own a commercial gospel station in Boston. Coild that be the eventual format, or just regular preaching?

Cumulus is holding on to the "Ticket" intellectual property and call letters.
Might we be seeing 98.3 flip soon? Or even 105.5?
I can't imagine Nash Icon is making tons of money trying to be a Monroe County station, especially when their signal in Monroe proper is a rimshot. The classic country crowd seems to prefer 103.7 these days (despite the fact that 103.7 has syndicated new-country crap on from 12mid-10am). On the other hand, how many shades of lipstick have they tried on the pig that is 105.5 now? And it continues to sit in the ratings basement.

I think ESPN / Ticket programming might reappear at 100.7 FM.

Re: 106.5 Toledo
98.3 brings in decent ratings in Monroe County, so I don't seem them flipping soon. 103.7 is decent although they play new country during overnights and mornings.
I like the Zone as they're the only station in Toledo that plays new rock, but they have very low ratings and only have a few advertisers. I personally would hate to see the Zone go.
