WPAY
Re: WPAY
A broker has a Toledo station with translator listed for $225,000. The ad claims full market coverage. Based on that, it has to be WPAY. There is no way WSPD would be offered for that low of a price, and I don’t see 1560 for sale. The others do not have translators.

Re: WPAY
Perhaps it COULD be WSPD. Right-wing talkers are gradually losing ratings points, their signal is not what as strong as it used to be (maybe its ground system is rusting away, like WOHO/WLQR, which turned its license in because of it), it is losing coverage at night to interference from other stations (I was talking to someone at another station on 1370 who described the channel as "full of cheaters"). And they could probably feed their FM translator from an HD channel instead of the AM.fuzzpower wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:14 amA broker has a Toledo station with translator listed for $225,000. Re: WPAY
SPeeDy is on WRVF-HD2 in stereo, and on mono on 92.9MHz. iHeart has too much money invested in the station to sell it that cheap, as it sold for a cool million back in about 1979, well before the inflated pricing came along in 1996. iHeart actually has fulltime engineers that keep their stations in top operating condition.
WSPD's transmitter site is in very good condition, it was not neglected like Cumulus' stations where engineering is considered a luxury.

Re: WPAY
Some translators are permanently linked to the AM station, meaning it cannot operate if the AM is disconnected. If this is the case with WSPD, then they wouldn’t sell 1370 without the translator. If both are included, the price is way too low.
It has to be 1520.
It has to be 1520.
Re: WPAY
I KNOW its WPAY! I've had contact with the broker. As I've said before, I only recently learned of WPAY's existence. This was after I answered a blind ad about a Toledo AM and translator for sale. The broker wrote back to tell me it was WPAY.

Re: WPAY
On the question of 1370 WSPD's theoretical value...
...depends if we're talking barebones "stick" value (i.e. FCC license, call letters & physical transmission plant only) or if we're talking Going Concern value (i.e. all intellectual property, including assignment of programming contracts, retention of certain key employees, etc.).
My best guess is barebones stick value is no greater than $400,000.
Throw in programming contracts, intellectual property, etc. - and that number probably rises to $1.2 million to $1.6 million.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: WPAY
that was actually a decent use of 1520 for K-LOVE classics, all they needed was a little bit of tweaking on the audio processing but the RF signal is quite decent. I don't understand the programming change though?
