Great choice!!! 80s to early 00s classic country. They nailed it.

Kudos to the full team over there.

Smart move! This is the brand of country I was hoping for - a Duke FM type of country gold format.
Makes it harder to distinguish between this station and WFGA during DXing, though.

I don't know what time it started. Seems like this morning, they were playing the track loop. Heard it in the car, some time around 3:30 PM. Had to stop at a store, so I called Art, and he said, "What is it now?" I said "Country". Called another poster here. Then, the third priority was posting on the other thread.

WLDR is apparently at full power, playing a wide demographic variety of Classic Hits. Surprisingly much better than expected.

Let's hope WLDR remains on the air!

I'm very pleased with WSRT-FM's format choice, and I'm also pleased that 101.9 WLDR has returned to the air at or near full power. Both developments are good news for listeners across the region.

Is 92.5 WFDX Atlanta - along with one or both FMs based in Benzie County - the only stations off the air or broadcasting at reduced power at this point?

I was sad to see The Fox FM go away, but the fact Northern MI wound up with a new Classic Country station on a major signal makes everything a net win at the end of the day in my book!

Both 92.3 and 99.3 were on today. Not sure of power level for either.

Also not sure of 100.1's current status, as WSJP was blowing them out of the water.

101.9 must be close to or at 100kW, as I was hearing them in Mason County (near the college) yesterday afternoon.

Good selection of music... but the imaging is a more than a bit mundane. Very canned sounding; not what you'd hope in a new station launch.

Does anyone know if the translators in Petoskey will be turned on 98.3?

Thanks for the listen live link! 🙂

I'm impressed with the overall sound of the station. Local cash giveaway is impressive. Stations in Detroit don't even give away that much cash these days.

Given the newness of the station (and the fact it was silent for many weeks), those who text back the key word when prompted probably have a darn good chance of winning!

Not all of the music is classic gold; I just heard a more recent song. 5 songs of 6 I've heard so far are from the 90s or 00s, though.

It wasn't one of those "Bro-country" songs, wasn't it?

Nope. Female artist. Might've been Lady A, but I'm not sure.
