In regards to the contests that they seem to run across all their radio stations, yes.

Hasn't that always been the case like with WJML The Music Station and WKHQ The Rhythm Of The Northwest? They always made them sound like big city stations. Most of the owners were from larger markets in Michigan and Illinois, etc.

That'll happen when you rely heavily on voice-tracking and syndication.

Agreed. Rock 105 is a pretty boring listen from a stationality standpoint. Music selection ain't bad, though.

I listen to them when I’m up in that area at least twice a month, Music is OK but they used to be way harder. Midland’s Z93 is far better for rock

Compared to WKLT, The Bear sounds wonderful. At least the talent aren't named Dean and appear on 4 other local stations.

I seem to recall JML being heavily praised back in the days of "The Music Station" for their big city sound.

I do believe the Black Diamond stations, at least the rockers, are consulted by Jacobs Media.

Okay, now that is definitely something I don't understand. As long as I've been looking at this forum, I've heard people talk about keeping playlists "tight." Can someone in the know tell me why that's a good idea? I can see it for a CHR where all the listeners want to hear their current favorite songs over and over, but otherwise I don't get it.
