GRR is a continuously measured market now, which means statistically validated ratings results are now issued monthly as opposed to quarterly.

Notes:
- WTNR is still identified as "AAA." Who the hell knows if these results are for 94.5 MHz or 107.3. MHz! What's certain is one of those two stations is missing from the publicly published results. Given how long it took Cumulus to get its online presence act together following the format changes, this comes as no surprise.
- Magic 104.9 has been all over the map ratings wise these past several months. After a great winter quarterly and terrible spring quarterly, the August monthly results were very kind to the station (3.6 share in ages 6+!).
- WBFX remains an embarrassment.
- Big slide for 104.1 WVGR (WUOM).
- ESPN 96.1 has seen no rise in numbers whatsoever following 107.3's format flip, which in my opinion is quite remarkable and reflective of pronounced weakness in 96.1's current programming.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

I'm pretty sure I heard recently that WVGR would be off the air or even on reduced power for tower maintenance.

First, who buys 45+?
Secondly, these are not the new monthly numbers, they're the old 3 month average. Considering only one company in town is buying a three month average, I'm wondering who Cumulus is sending out for damage control, and is the best you have?

Three month average or not, a #7 ranking in Adults 25-54 is very respectable for a AAA station...especially a relatively new one. Not an easy format to pull off!
At least ratings wise, trading BBL for the Q appears to have been a wise move. Time will tell if ad dollars follow. If the station is able to put together a string of books with ratings in that territory, it will get buys.
Unless that 1.6 share appearing in August is for a station that doesn't exist or is a data error, Blunder 107.3 has gigantic issues. The last time a station fell so precipitously in the ratings is when the original WKLQ was around (post Stern in 2003), but in percentage terms, the WTNR drop might actually be worse - if the published numbers are legit.

It's amazing how WNWZ AM 1410 with its translator is beating so many other stations that are full power FMs. That model could work with other markets with neglected formats. Detroit FM has become like the CB band, so I can't see it happening there.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

I don't know for how long I was calling for someone to do Urban AC on a decent signal on the FM dial in Grand Rapids. I long thought 100.5 would be a great spot for such a format.
When I saw 104.9 MHz was allotted for use as an AM translator, I immediately said someone should run it as an Urban AC or Urban Contemporary station.
I assumed iHeart/Clear Channel was going to do precisely that, but then they relocated the original CP to the Dayton, OH market, leaving 104.9 MHz available for Townsquare, who applied to relocate its signal-impaired 94.1 MHz translator in Grand Rapids to the open 104.9 MHz spot.
