Companies do not sell properties. That would trigger a valuation which could disrupt stock price.

7&4 is in better shape than its downstate Sinclair brethren. WEYI is a distant third in Flint/Saginaw/Tri-Cities

The number I read was 60 stations (reported back in May), but the company also said they'd consider selling anything for the right price.

I presume you multiplied the 30 percent figure referenced in various news articles by 294 stations. That figure, though, includes unowned stations that they operate. The number of stations they truly own is only 185.

You are correct , that most of their stations are available except for the top performers. They are all in on ATSC 3.0. It is shocking how many of their stations have zero news talent and just get news from other stations

I remember my great-grandma having to tune her antenna just right to get Fox 33 in their early days. She was located about five miles SE of Onekama in Manistee County. Luckily for her, the rotor broke when it was aimed ESE toward Fox 33, which would get her 7&4, 9&10, 29&8, and CMU (WCMV) strong, as well as 26 and 38 from Green Bay off the back. WCMW was iffy there, and surprisingly the Green Bay VHFs were rare from my experience.

In less than five years, Fox 33 went from a brand new station to being ahead of 29&8 in parts of northern Michigan!

My grandfather had to do that in Frederic.

The interest thing, he lived at the bottom of a valley, and he would get 33 in better than 45.

Perhaps Charlie Tinker? He was on his second stint at NewsNet when it shut down...might he surface again in one of the Michigan markets where he's been before (as his resume includes WWTV, WJRT, and WZZM).

The family farm I grew up on was close enough to the property where the Taj Mahal (as my uncle called it, what with the white columnar appearance and well-lit at night) was built by Kysor that he and my father were sent letters about the township rezoning hearing.

Yes, I remember when the acreage was farm fields and woods. I also remember the Cadillac Drive-In Theatre operating across the freeway to the south, and the Coca Cola Bottling facility (actually just a distribution building) to the east across Mackinaw Trail/Old 131 from there. Times change...makes me feel old.

I'm not sure if Kysor Industrial was ever part of the S&P 500 -- but they were NYSE listed. Google had to remind me of the details how in the late 90s their separate divisions were divvied up by other companies.

As TC Talks noted, once Kysor vacated the building (one of my friend's fathers was the last remaining HR employee for Kysor...often having the building to himself for the couple of years of final winddown), Wilcox Associates acquired it. Then they seemed to cease to exist as a multi-office/multi-state engineering firm. Finally after more vacant years, Heritage Broadcasting purchased it, as others have noted in this thread.

If indeed the TV station does clear out, who next might venture into the building? Perhaps it is a budget buster, given the history.

I'm not sure if Kysor Industrial was ever part of the S&P 500 -- but they were NYSE listed.

I can't find any online evidence to suggest Kysor was ever part of the S&P 500, so I could be mistaken in that regard.

Local residents may remember the new Glen's Market which opened in that strip mall on the north end of town and later became Dunham's Sporting Goods. I was told that supermarket was used by Kysor as a showcase to visiting executives for their latest refrigeration units.
