No Detroit Lions radio affiliate in the Ludington area???
Is this list accurate?
https://www.detroitlions.com/schedule/l ... io-network
(Obviously, they are using the wrong call letters for 107.9 Muskegon.)
Ludington might literally be the only place statewide other than Ironwood (I am unsure if WUPY can be heard easily there due to rugged terrain) or Menominee where the Lions are unavailable on a clear signal.

Interesting that they doubled up affiliates in the Escanaba/Manistique and Houghton/Hancock markets. No market exclusivity for Lions?

WGFN-FM with a tower in Glen Arbor might deliver a feathery signal to that area. I am only over that way a couple of days a year, friends have a stupendous lake house on the narrows of Hamlin Lake. WKLA-AM in Ludington probably carried the Lions in ancient days, there was another signal over that way where Rob Davidek cut his teeth back in the Reagan administration that carried some network sports.

Usually, WLKN from Manitowoc is predominant at 98.1 MHz in Ludington, at least in summer months.Trophyhead wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:43 amWGFN-FM with a tower in Glen Arbor might deliver a feathery signal to that area. Let's curb this. The Lions will be on this Sunday on a new affiliate in the Ludington area. We had quite a few reach out during the missing broadcast of the Tigers season that both have found a new home.

Have the Packers or Bears ever had a radio affiliate in the Lower Peninsula? I do know that a station in Kalamazoo carried the Cubs a few years back.
Also, it doesn't appear that there is a Lions affiliate in Toledo. It's well known about the Tigers' coverage issues in Toledo, but WMTR does put a slightly better signal than WXYT into most of Toledo.

the Lions were on Toledo radio for many years on 1470/106.5/100.7 the Ticket, then about three years ago they switched to the Browns instead. This year it seems they're not airing the Browns either.

Yes, the Bears have had affiliates in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo at various points in time. It's been many, many years in the case of Grand Rapids.ftballfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 6:40 pmHave the Packers or Bears ever had a radio affiliate in the Lower Peninsula? Doc Benson had the Cubs on in Cadillac, the year after their charmed season ('85) when he fired up an FM station at 107. I guess "they" thought that would take away from some of WKJF's market share. As a young broadcaster I didn't understand it, as a baseball fan it was great.

Which station(s) aired Da Bears in GR many years back? Did the Pack ever have radio affiliates in GR (or Muskegon or Ludington/Manistee or Traverse City)?MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:19 pmYes, the Bears have had affiliates in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo at various points in time. 1340 in Grand Rapids aired the Bears many, many years ago (1980s).
Why would anyone want to carry the Packers in lower Michigan? Yuck.

We have many Packer fans in Traverse City. The Lions have sucked for decades and Green Bay is a mere 63 miles away. Old timers built directional antennas to watch games.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:51 pm1340 in Grand Rapids aired the Bears many, many years ago (1980s).
