I know Bill personally... my disgust with him is personal based on things he has said to me... about me, my wife, and kids.... then denies it like a little whiny bitch. What he has done to his own family, is worse.

I see, well this is a discussion about Kevin and the news team.

Bill is a reporter and not the News Director. Made start a new thread or maybe call Bill and grab coffee and discuss your differences.

Don't you think Kevin just wanted a change and a pay increase? That's why most people in media leave.
Good point. But I would think at 25 years, he'd have a decent salary. But I could be very mistaken.

I wish him the best of luck.

Since when in broadcast does time on the job meant more money.

Working for a college is a great gig. Another high profile talent did the same thing 8 years ago.

Where did Kimberly Purdy end up going?

Sounds like an engineer's slant...
Yup.

When an engineer leaves - who knows? Or cares?
Ahhh, spoken with full embracement of the true spirit of most in the Buzzboard. Slap that keyboard and show that other guy who's boss.

Let's just say that the open-mouthed, wide-eyed, frazzled, confused, and totally helpless everywhere in the station ranging all the way from the GM down all the way to the air staff when something goes wrong is who very strongly cares when the engineer leaves.
No disrespect, but most viewers / listeners (the people you kinda dissed on a 'help me out here' earlier) - not internal-only staffers of a station - do not even know the broadcast engineer exists.

And like Shingles...

Point well taken.

I think the best example of that concept is a football telecast. Most outside the industry at the very best picture a guy sitting behind or standing with a camera.

The equipment 'in the truck' is amazing, and the people behind the finished product more so. Even with a good understanding of what is involved, I'm amazed by the coverage that just keeps getting better.

The box that many broadcasters won’t look outside of was made in 1969 and hasn’t changed significantly since.

Like I said, point the finger at Bill Froelich, he has his head up the new owners ass..... and that is forcing good talent out the door. Shocked Lauren Scafidi and Adam Bartlemay are still there.... and Mike Stevens.
Remember, Adam worked with Bill at 7&4 for several years. He knows Bill well, so probably knows how to stay away from Bill's bullshit. Being in the weather dept, Mike might not deal much with Bill. The same with Tom.

Edward R. Murrow. Walter Cronkite. David Brinkley. Kevin Essebaggers. Names that just ooze legendary status.
