Madison Ryke

I was watching Michigan This Morning on 9&10 and saw that today was Madison Ryke's last day. I didn't hear the details but where is she going?

Madison broke her contract to leave 9and10. So did Haleigh Vaughn and Samatha Jacques? An interesting trend for management to think about? Is Tom the problem?

That's a good jump! WBNS is the long-dominant CBS affiliate in Ohio's largest city (yes, Columbus proper has more people than Cleveland and Cincinnati, but CLE and CVG still have larger metro areas and markers)

Why did she break her contract? Not happy at 9&10 or just got a better offer from WBNS?

She left her contract for two reasons.

1. Bigger and better opportunities at WBNS
2. Tom O'Hare is extremely hard to work with.

My brother-in-law works there and says the place is completely toxic, They let go of a person yesterday who already gave them their two-week notice.

I didn't realize things were that bad over there. I wondered why I was always seeing new faces. I just figured it was just a training ground for new on-air talent.

I know that Hailey Vaughn left to me with her now husband in Kalamazoo...

Samantha's now husband is in law school at MSU; so she jumped at the first chance to be down by him....

Madison's long term girlfriend I believe lives in the Dayton Area...

So all three moved to be with their significant others...

Tom Seems like a nice guy... I cannot imagine he is difficult to work with.

I consider Northern Michigan to be a training ground for anchors/reporters although I was kinda surprised a WWMT reporter came back to Northern Michigan to be an anchor for a couple of years and then left for the Twin Cities. Hailey Vaughn does a pretty good job doing weather for Fox17 easy on the eyes as well. Plus I think a lot want to move to a bigger market than in Northern Michigan.

9&10 has been toxic since I worked there in the mid 2000s. Hearing that it still is is completely unsurprising to me. Most of that comes from the current GM. He has been the source of it since he was in the newsroom. Kinda bummed to hear Tom is still a douche at work. He's a nice guy away from the office.

Yes, very few will stay in broadcasting if they stay in Northern MI. Pay isn't very good from what I've heard here.

There a few exceptions, though.

And I would've thought Mario would be about ready to retire and sell 9&10 by this point.

Although the only mention I could find of it on the Buzzboard was here by moldy, unfortunately, he won't get that chance...

If you're referring to Dunaway, he and his wife are both long gone.
