WLNS promoted eclipse watch parties in Jackson and Lansing. However they angered many people by promising and not purchasing enough glasses. Viewers were upset when they went to the parks to be told there were no more free glasses.
Yet, the station posted pictures of them handing out glasses to its staff to watch the eclipse in its backyard. Not a good look.

you buy 5,000 pairs, (or whatever) and then you limit attendance to roughly that.

You can have your own opinions but not your own facts. The number of glasses available in each city was triple digits. Double check your sources.
