Martin:
WDCQ is not based in Bad Axe. They have to identify themselves as Bad Axe because the RF15 that they operate on is assigned to Bad Axe. WDCQ is based out of Delta College near Bay City, in Bay County. The transmitter is south of Quanicassee in Tuscola County.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through April 25 at 5:30p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Re: ATSC 3.0
WDCQ's license in Bad Axe originated when they were originally a satellite of the old WUCM / WDCQ, broadcasting on channel 35 in the analog era. When the conversion to digital was in progress, they opted to broadcast digitally from Quanticassee on the Bad Axe license (using a PSIP of 19, with FCC permission), instead of using two transmitters. The station that was WUCM is defunct, but practically on paper only.

NextGen TV has launched in Flight, MI, with five stations now broadcasting with the NextGen TV transmissions standard. The stations include: WJRT (ABC), WNEM (CBS), WSMH (Fox), WEYI (NBC), and WBSF (CW).
The participating station has cooperated to ensure that current programming remains available to all viewers, regardless of whether their television service is provided over-the air or by a cable or satellite company. Antenna viewers can simply rescan their TV sets to ensure full service.
With NextGen TV, viewers will get improved video and sound quality, added voice clarity, consistent volume across channels, enhanced internet content on demand, and advanced emergency alerting functions to keep viewers better informed.
Antenna viewers without NextGen TV sets can simply rescan their TV sets to ensure uninterrupted service. Rescan instructions are available at: fcc.gov/rescan. Cable and satellite subscribers do not need to take any action.
Around 45% of U.S. TV households are within range of receiving ATSC 3.0 and that number is expected to grow to 75% by the end of this year. Visit watchnextgentv.com for a list of cities that have launched NextGen TV and the cities that are set to launch later this year.
