Bill was “laid off” in the latest round of Sinclair cuts. Another example of a classless move by the corporate Death Star. The new handpicked Sinclair GM and the In Over Her Head News Director were able to get around the position cut by essentially making Bill a freelance independent contractor working on special projects. So if you’re counting, you work 50 years in broadcasting, jump across town to help out a fledgling new Sinclair news organization and management throws you out when they look to cut costs.

Isn’t Bill near 70 years old? If so, kick back and enjoy retirement. I’m sure that he doesn’t need the stress of working for Sinclair anymore

Realist: true, but Bill still enjoys the work. 25-66 needed the credibility that he brought, along with other ABC 12 cast offs like Joel Feick. To be treated the way he's been treated by Sinclair and its local management team is beyond comprehension.

Bill started at 25 before they were a Sinclair station.
