25-66 owner Sinclair Broadcasting continues to push its free over the air digital subchannels, like Comet, Grit, TBD, etc.

I know there’s an audience for these channels, we get calls into the station from time to time (especially when there’s audio issues, etc)
What I question is the business model. First, these stations are pass throughs, meaning 25-66 isn’t technically able to add commercial insertion. That could be solved down the road. However, would the amount made on commercials for a very low rated diginet surpass the amount stations charge cable and satellite providers for retransmission agreements and the likely declining ratings that would result?
I know 5 & 12 have similar options, so this expansion in digital subchannels could impact the financial bottom lines of local TV stations.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through April 25 at 5:30p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Digital subchannels
Re: Digital subchannels
There may be an audience for some subchannels, but not for others. MeTV, GRIT, H&I, Comet, yes. Stadium, Spanish, no. Maybe TBD, Court, Mystery. How about Decades and AntennaTV instead?
