Barry Faber 'Retiring'

Post by sinklair » Wed May 26, 2021 9:34 pm

25-66 parent company Sinclair Broadcast Group is losing a member of its longtime leadership team. Barry Faber is currently in charge of distribution and network relations.

Barry's legacy forever will be that he was the attorney that figured out Sinclair's approach to using sidecars to buy more than one TV station in various markets, like the purchase and consolidation of WEYI and WSMH.

What won't be mentioned is that Barry is also the "genius" who had an antagonistic relationship with the FCC, resulting in record fines and the botched takeover of Tribune.

Good bye Barry!

Faber has literally cost Sinclair millions of dollars in record FCC fines, but is getting a golden parachute at a time when 25-66 and other SBG stations have laid off more than 5% of its labor force.

Simply amazing that in addition to getting paid millions n his way out in the form of cash, bonuses and stock options, Sinclair is paying Faber $1,050 per hour for "consulting fees". Yet, my GM and the In Over Her Head News Director won't give us pay raises. Many of us are making less than what you can earn at Mickie Ds.
