Former Flint Reporter part of SEC Complaint against Tegna

Post by sinklair » Sat Apr 10, 2021 10:19 am

A new SEC complaint has been filed by the largest shareholder of TEGNA broadcast against the company claiming racist and discriminatory practices.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data ... fan14a.htm

In the filing it says:”KUSA is the very station that fired Latina reporter Kristen Aguirre after she suffered a stroke in 2019. She was let go last April after being told she was no longer up to 9News standards.”

Kristen was the morning news anchor at 25-66 before heading to KUSA in Denver.

The rest of the filing is compelling. It should be a warning for companies like Sinclair to fix internal problems and place a priority in hiring more managers of color. Of course, that won’t happen at 25-66. Maybe someone here should file an SEC report against 25-66 parent company Sinclair Broadcast Group. Hmmm... interesting idea!
