Sinclair’s 60 Minutes Hit Job

Post by sinklair » Wed Apr 07, 2021 5:50 am

From the company that brought you anchors forced to read promos about fake news... now comes a “must run” story criticizing 60 Minutes’’ journalism:

I can’t believe that a company like Sinclair that has been caught numerous times airing stories that were clearly biased would have the gall to call out another media organization.

I see nothing wrong with the Sinclair story nor the State of Florida's partnership with Publix. It's no different than the State of Michigan's partnership with Meijer.

MW: agreed. Not the best journalism by 60 Minutes. Lots of “legitimate” news outlets have been critical of 60 Minutes handling of the Florida vaccine story.

But Sinclair forcing its stations to air a story critical of another media outlet while ignoring many, many examples of its national team playing fast and loose with facts or ignoring other perspectives is the ultimate hypocrisy.

I don't understand what you mean when you say "forcing its stations." Doesn't Sinclair own these stations? Aren't they the ones paying the bills and salaries? How can they force themselves to do something? More importantly, if Sinclair sold all of their stations to a left leaning entity like - for instance - Warner Media, and then Warner "forced" it's own stations to go hard the other way, would it appear as bad to the average station employee or viewer?

DAC: local journalists should make local coverage decisions in local newscasts. Not corporate bosses with political agendas.

60 Minutes didn't learn what happened in 2004 although that was 60 Minutes 2 that cost Dan Rather his job on the CBS Evening News about George W. Bush and skipping Military training which wasn't true and was a lie.
