Armstrong goes off on the Royal Family

Post by sinklair » Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:23 am

In the category of “no one asked your opinion”, 25-66 owner Armstrong Williams spouts off on Oprah, Meghan and Harry, and the media. On Facebook, he wrote:

“ Gayle King said yesterday that she spoke with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, better known as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, following their headline making claims of race in last week’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

After a week of the media exploiting the Royal Family for click bait dominated by claims of racism in Buckingham Palace, apparently Prince Harry and Meghan are upset that the media is obsessing over race. Are you serious? What did they think would happen? Prince Harry spoke on international television and said there were concerns about the color of their baby Archie, yet when pressed on who said it, he refused to say. All this did was create a media frenzy that was sure to embarrass and upset everyone involved.

I have no pity for the Duke and Duchess. They fell into this media trap and allowed themselves to be ripped apart and exploited, all at the expense of their reputation and the reputation of Harry’s prestigious family.

It’s a shame on the press for creating this spectacle and a shame on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for playing into their deceptive games.”

Not only is Armstrong’s argument idiotic, it also is a criticism of “his” TV stations which aired numerous stories on the Royal rift... and continues to do so.

And dozens of more stories...

More examples of why Armstrong Williams doesn’t know what he’s talking about!

Armstrong posts a video asking his fans “do you trust the media?”

Laughable, since Armstrong — as the “owner” of local TV stations — is part of the “media” he criticized. He takes every opportunity to use his platform to blame Democrats for the current situation facing our country (“it’s Joe Biden, Kamala Harris’ fault) while ignoring the impact of the policies of the previous four years. Armstrong is the first to venture into identity politics when it suits his arguments and then questions why people don’t trust the media? There’s an easy answer why... it’s because of people like Armstrong who pose as the media while offering opinions as news instead of actually giving unbiased information.

If my In Over Her Head News Director was doing her job, we would be labeling every one of Armstrong’s appearances as “commentary” or “opinion”. Instead he’s the one who continues to sow distrust because he’s using his local tv stations to sell political ideology instead of reporting facts.

Look in the mirror Armstrong for the reason why the media and “your” local stations face low trust scores!

Wouldn't Armstrong fire management if they said his show was a commentary or opinion show and would just hire someone that would tow the company line?

That would require Armstrong to actually do work. Right now his only interest is cashing the check from NBC 25 profits at a time when we are laying off staff at Sinclair’s corporate Death Star orders to increase profit margins.

That could be the subject line of one exceedingly large collection of threads in this forum!
