Sinclair Cares about Water Crisis

Post by sinklair » Sun Feb 21, 2021 8:00 am

It’s great to know that our parent company — Sinclair Broadcast Group — recognizes the humanitarian crisis that surrounds the lack of reliable drinking water in major population areas and is rallying its TV stations nationwide (including 25-66) to help raise funds for Salvation Army relief efforts.

Of course I’m not talking about the water crisis in Flint that Sinclair has ignored from the very start. The Corporate Death Star is asking us to promote its fundraiser to help out its Texas stations.

Don’t get me wrong... it’s important to help out in this effort. We’ve been asked to help out following wildfires, hurricanes, Iowa wind storm, etc. But when it came to helping out mid-Michigan following the water crisis or more recently our dam break, where was Sinclair? Nowhere to be found.

When politicians in a red state like Texas make decisions to not protect its power supply leading to this crisis, Sinclair helps out.

But when the crisis happens to a Democratic leaning city with a largely poor and African American community, Sinclair is nowhere to be found.

Let’s not ignore the facts here. It’s not like Sinclair hasn’t had 7 years to step up...
