The difference between the Detroit and Flint DMA’s are amazing to me. In the Detroit one I literally have a nearly 50 channel basic cable system off my antennas, versus up there OTA is nearly useless. Most of the problem is due to Sinclair. Detroit DMA is Sinclair free, thank God.
Sinclair owns 3 stations in the Flint-Saginaw-Bay City DMA. Should be illegal.

Biden Girl: keep up. Yes, 25-66 is in last place. Has been forever. Which is why many of us are calling for a change in management. You can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

3 words: Sinclair Broadcast Group. One person can’t fix “corporate stupid.”

Scripps should buy WNEM, then Sinclair should be forced to sell one their stations to INYO. Then u all will get a lot more diginets and a lot better TV all around.

Well, the latest is that Nexstar and Fox Television are interested so sayeth FTVLive.
I'm going to,in my opinion, add Byron Allen's ALLEN MEDIA GROUP to the mix..
Discuss if you wish any pros or cons to the players FTVLive mentioned as well as the one I added.

Does 25/66 even really need a news department? I mean, sure, as long as Sinclair is the owner, they will need there to be news to push their agenda. I'm slightly puzzled why non-stop overload of news has become so important in the last few decades. I'm remembering back when 25 had no local news programming. It didn't stop anyone from watching MASH, All in the Family, etc. How much ad revenue can possibly being generated by having a crappy local news show? I'm just thinking out loud here, not saying that this is necessarily a good idea. I know lots of you will have something to say.

Scripps buying WNEM? No thanks.

Already sick of seeing Scripps' dark blue, bland chyrons on the stations it owns.

They also aren't doing a very good job running the WXMI news operation. WOOD, WZZM and WWMT all look visually superior to WXMI these days, and in terms of timely reporting of hard news, WXMI's performance seems to be slipping.

Nexstar is right near the cap they can't buy any more TV stations unless they use Mission playing with house money that is Nexstar bankrolling this merger with Meredith. I didn't read the FTVLive article since it is under a paywall.

Scripps would be a disaster. They can’t seem to right the ship in Detroit and it’s experiment in Lansing is an embarrassment.

We already have one mega broadcaster with Sinclair... we don’t need more cookie cutter newscasts.
