I also know that "Soul Train" was on WNEM TV 5 at 11:30 AM till 12:30 PM Saturday afternoons in the late 70's & early 80's instead of 3 cartoon or children's shows that were on NBC back then!!Acceptable registrations in the queue through March 30 at 9:00a ET have now been activated. "American Bandstand" (1975 - 1989) NOT on WJRT 12
Does anyone know why WJRT ABC 12 pulled the late Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" back either in 1975 or 1976 till 1989 on Saturday afternoons back then?? Both talk shows "Impressions" & "Open Door" took it's place instead. I did seen the interviews on YouTube though!! Bandstand was practically foreign to me, due to the fact that the local ABC affiliates where I have lived, including WJRT, bumped it for something else. I did not get to see Bandstand other than on anniversary specials or the VH1 repeats.
By the way, Bandstand left ABC in 1987 -- it was in syndication from 1987 to 1988, and had a short stint on USA Network in 1989. Did anyone clear Bandstand in Mid-Michigan when it was syndicated?

WJRT did showed those "AB" specials though. I did remember Cheech & Chong throwing a fit & breaking a table back in 1977!! I also saw when they broke a 45 record & the "Rate A Record" came down in 1973!!!
