What happened to channel 38?
What happened to channel 38?
I can't get anything on channel 38 (RF19) for the last week or so. When did they leave the air?
Not that I watched the stations much.

They canceled their license for some reason, and went off the air permanently on 12/15, around 5:15pm. Which really sucks, as I watched it all the time. Here's the LMS for it: https://enterpriseefiling.fcc.gov/datae ... 7&goBack=N

Are you talking about W35DQ-D by Clio? I don't have any hope of receiving that up here in Sanford.I was right on the cliff with WFKB which just went dark.

Re: What happened to channel 38?
I see that the owner was DTV America LLC.
This was a front company that hoarded LPTV licenses and planned to dismantle them all after the repack auction concluded.
It had no intention of being a broadcasting empire, it only wanted to collect money by selling spectrum.
Worse, after the repack, they were still holding many LPTV licenses for places where the spectrum was not needed.
They surrendered all of those licenses, since, if they had sold the licenses, those LPTV stations could be offering programming that would be competing with private circuit viewing.

And of course, as the FCC isn't currently issuing new licenses for TV stations right now, they game the system by wiping out opportunities to have competition, especially in markets where there are too few players and/or stations.innate-in-you wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:54 pmI see that the owner was DTV America LLC.

Here's a list of stations that DTV America owned. Some of these stations would later be "sold" to HC2 Holdings, which was a finance company that operated DTV America as a front (I think). All of these stations carried only religious or subchannel networks.
