False narrative of the liberal media

Post by sinklair » Tue Nov 17, 2020 2:03 am

People like to talk about the “media” as a single entity... and it’s so-called leftist leanings in coverage.

However, in doing so, they fail to recognize the conservative agenda being forced upon local TV stations like 25-66 by billionaires like Sinclair’s David Smith.

More examples why mega TV station groups like Sinclair and Nexstar need to be broken up by the FCC and provide more financial support for local ownership. This goes for breaking up digital entities like Google, Facebook and Twitter as well.

What do you mean by "and provide more financial support for local ownership "? Who provides this? The FCC?
That's crazy talk.

The stations - any and all stations - should be paying the FCC for their ability to occupy public bandwidth.

“Breaking up” any private organization by government is unconstitutional and immoral.
Tell that to AT&T. The government broke them up. Sinclair is a publicly traded corporation. They are not a little privately-owned group.

Midland: these large media conglomerates — both broadcast like Sinclair and digital like Facebook and Google — are the modern day Ma Bell’s, surpressing competition and becoming a monopoly. That’s why the FCC needs to reverse its trend of allowing larger shares of US coverage. We are all better served by more local ownership of TV stations... and less national must run corporate propaganda forced by Sinclair and its local lackey leadership into local newscasts.

Of course, Sinclair skirted the FCC regulations by having many of its stations owned by shell companies and operated by Sinclair as LMAs. Sinclair, no doubt, is not the only one, but they have been real pros in using this to expand its reach.

I'll tell it to anybody.

I’ll tell it to anybody.
You'll probably find fools who will believe you, too.
