The ASSistant GM/Promotions Director at 25-66 once again proves that she has no idea how to promote or drive viewership to our newscasts. She essentially is taking over a large part of station promotion for an Ellen watch and win contest.

You’d think that during November ratings that featured a major election during a worldwide pandemic that we’d be promoting enterprise journalism. But then you don’t know the “brains” (term used very loosely) behind 25-66’s failing promotions department.
I’m not sure why the new GM hasn’t fired Jamie and promoted Phil.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through March 16 at 11:00a ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Misplaced promotional priorities
Re: Misplaced promotional priorities
Does that mean you win and meet Ellen once COVID is over and see a taping of her show to whoever wins and Sinclair will pay for the trip to LA?
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.
Re: Misplaced promotional priorities
Master: nope, but that would be nice.
The contest that is taking over a lot of our promotional inventory is for one person in the country (not even one person per market!) to “virtually” attend an Ellen taping. You’ll “win” whatever prizes Ellen gives away, but then Sinclair will stick you with the bill for taxes for the prizes you win.

Sinclair should pay for the prizes that Ellen gives out shouldn't stick anyone with the taxes.

Re: Misplaced promotional priorities
Correct, MasterB.
Maybe instead of sticking its viewers with the bill for its contest, maybe Sinclair can use the money from David Smith’s next prostitution arrest... or SBG could try not to lie to the FCC costing tens of millions of dollars.
Stop being so cheap, Sinclair!
