New report says 25-66 owner Sinclair Broadcasting will lose about $130-million this year just in its regional sports channels (Fox Sports Detroit and others).

Who will pay? Rumors are even further belt tightening expected on Pierson Road...

I imagine all sectors tied to sports have hemorrhaged money the last few months, due to cancellations and postponements of sports seasons and events. And no doubt this will continue into the fall as colleges and universities put a brake on their fall sports programs.

Even the worldwide leader in sports, ESPN, has been sweating bullets.

Us cable subscribers, of course -- we pay for the sports channels, even if they carry nothing but infomercials or a test pattern. Their main concern are advertisers and sports contracts that could not be fulfilled.
