Actually the FCC is controlled by a Republican chairman... so... let’s make TV great again!

The FCC's new definition of diversity is to allow Chinese and Russians to own US radio stations. See Cumulus.

Oh, and Sinclair was named one of the worst TV station groups during COVID and protests:

That’s not gonna help with diversity recruiting...

Just about everything... since the Republican controlled FCC controls the rules that govern station ownership over your beloved “swamp media.” If you believe “journalism is dead”, you should start by calling for new leadership of the Trump appointed chairman. Maybe then we’ll see changes that improve station ownership, increased diversity, better quality local journalism, and more grilled cheese days!

Has anyone seen or heard from Beerbong? It’s been boring here on the Buzzboard ever since he moved to Seattle. Now all I have to keep me entertained is the re-education of R and Lovin...

R: only you could misread the statement and come to that illogical conclusion. Come off the porch, stop yelling at neighborhood kids to get off your lawn, and actually learn how to read to comprehend. You’ll be a better person for learning this new skill... and you might be a more informed voter when you understand how the Trump appointed/Republican controlled FCC has moved toward media consolidation that has left stations in the condition you claim to deplore. Join me in the good fight, my friend.

These aren’t DNC talking points. I’m having a hard time believing that you are supporting the status quo that has a lack of diverse voices in a market like Flint and Saginaw. You don’t like the current “swamp media”, but are opposed to any changes. Your position doesn’t make any sense...

I doubt that Sinclair cares that there number 5 on the worse list from FTVlive.

Master: you would think so. But the skin is pretty thin over in B’more. They don’t like their judgement questioned... ever. Which makes the current 25-66 “leadership” perfect. They just follow marching orders without question. Diversity problem? What diversity problem?

Hard to believe, but TV5’s owners listed as even worse than 25-66’s Sinclair for its handling of COVID-19:

On the complete other end of the spectrum, 12’s owner Gray is hailed as one of the best station groups in the country for its handling of COVID-19:

Sinclair’s systematic problem with diversity isn’t limited to 25-66 or its hand picked in over her head News Director...

Seems as if other Sinclair stations have similar problems. Here’s some helpful advice: the problems start with the top. Get more persons of color in management positions and more diverse voices will be in the reporter/anchor ranks.

Kathy Reynolds (not sure why you continue personal insults... especially since you claim never to have worked for NBC 25) hasn’t worked at the station for 7 years now.

So your scenario is more like:
The former news director is pushed out the door by the bow departed egomaniac/accountant in chief since he won’t roll over and air unethical one sided corporate must run “news” stories and promos. And instead of actually doing an open search for a news director, the egomaniac and regional news manager Lame Michaelsen decide to promote the next person in line (Neille), don’t bother paying her the amount they were paying Schramm, and don’t fill the Assistant News Director role. That way the station saves money and we do more with less.

It’s the same gimmick that they have Ahmad filling the chief meteorologist role after Jamie Kagol was forced out... but really didn’t give Ahmad the title or raise.

It’s BS. It’s also unfortunately the 25-66 way.

The new GM (if one is ever hired) needs to clean house... Maybe Sinclair can hire a non-sales person for the top position... or a person of color. But pigs have a greater chance of flying out my butt first.

No she wasn’t. She was “promoted” to Sinclair’s Maine station.

The guy who followed her (who’s name can’t be mentioned in the newsroom without setting off the in over her head News Director) was fired after objecting to the corporate must runs, lay-off plans and bad Mid-Michigan NOW rebranding campaign being forced on us by the egomaniac GM, ASSistant GM, and Lame Michaelsen.

Because I wasn’t taking about Kathy. She’s not a “he”. I’m talking about the guy who replaced Reynolds... whose name shall not be mentioned in the 25-66 newsroom unless you want to face the wrath of the in over her head News Director. Beetlejuice... beetlejuice... beetlejuice!
